Asheville, NC (April 9, 2024) – Authorities confirmed that 26-year-old Andrew Dean Justiniano of Fletcher lost his life in a motor vehicle accident reported in the Asheville area. The incident occurred at around 2:30 a.m. on April 7.

According to official reports, a 2024 Tesla collided head-on with a 2022 Freightliner tractor-trailer on Interstate 40 near mile marker 54. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway for approximately six hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. The driver of the Tesla, identified as Justiniano, was fatally injured. He was pronounced deceased by authorities at the scene. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
