Greenville, SC (January 29, 2024) – A fatal fire incident took place on Monday morning in the Greenville area that claimed one person’s life. At around 7:15 a.m. on January 29, the Greenville police and firefighters were called to the scene of an incident on East North Street.
Reports provided by authorities show that a fire broke out inside a Greenville apartment located in the area of 2540 East North Street during the morning hours. Authorities responded to the scene and closed off the roadway near the intersection of Pelham Road. Authorities confirmed that one person was located inside the apartment. The victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the fire are being investigated. Authorities confirmed that they were looking for a second victim. However, no other victims were located on the premises.
