Three people died on Sunday in a Hall County wreck that involved two vehicles.
The accident occurred around 12:10 a.m. on Ga.365 to the south of Kubota Way.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said initial investigations showed that 27-year-old Daney Nava struck a 2015 Jeep Patriot Sport with her 2013 Volkswagen Jetta.
Nava was reportedly going south in the northbound lane. The Jeep, which was driven by 23-year-old Kristen Nicole Mitchell, flipped on its side and caught fire in the Hall County wreck.
An eight-year-old who was traveling in the back seat of Nava’s car also died.
The HSCO said a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe C1500 subsequently struck the debris in the road but no one suffered injuries.
Both HCSO deputies and Hall County Fire Services personnel responded to the scene while crews from the Georgia Department of Transportation closed the northbound lanes of the highway until around 4:30 a.m.
The HCSO’s Accident Investigation Unit will continue its investigations. Anyone who has information about what happened has been asked to call Sgt. J. Morgan at 770-718-2383.
Meanwhile, a woman died in a single-car crash in Twiggs County on Tuesday. The Georgia State Patrol identified her as 45-year-old Heather Poole of Danielsville.
GSP said Poole was driving west along State Road 358 when she swerved out of her lane.
The car traveled along the north shoulder of the road and onto a sloped driveway before launching into the air.
Poole was ejected from her vehicle while the car landed on its top.
The victim was taken to Fairview Park Hospital for treatment but she subsequently died.
GSP said alcohol may have been a factor. Investigations are ongoing.
