Any car accident lawyer in Atlanta will tell you – most car crashes are indeed accidents. Very few people set out to injure other people on the road. Anything, from a puddle of water to sun glare can cause someone to crash into another vehicle. This is exactly what happened Saturday in Laurens County. 5 injured and 1 dead in Laurens County fatal crash.
Roger McAdams, a 50-year old man from Hampton, was driving his 2005 Ford F-350 when he approached a car driving in front of him. The other car was a 2016 Dodge Dart, driven by 48-year old Rogelio Organista.
At about 7:30 a.m., the man driving the Dodge Dart said that he had to slow down because he couldn’t see against the sun glare on Interstate-16. The pickup truck behind him wasn’t able to slow down fast enough and crashed into the rear of the Dart.
At the time of the crash, both vehicles had passengers in their cars. 5 of these passengers in all were injured. This includes both McAdams and Organista. It appears that Organista’s son, 14-year old Bryan, was also in the Dart. Along with him was 64-year old woman named Cleosas Castro. All of these passengers were transported to the local hospitals. Some went to Navicent in Macon, Georgia. The rest went to Fairview Park Hospital.
One passenger died in the crash. 49-year old Lourdes Aguilar was in the back of the Dart at the time of the crash. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the hospital at about 9 a.m.
Police say charges are pending awaiting the outcome of the investigation.
