The authorities in Horry County are investigating a fatal Little River crash that took place on Highway 90 on Thursday night.
According to the Horry County Fire Rescue, crews responded to the area of Robert Edge Parkway in Little River at 8:12 p.m.
Lance Cpl. Nick Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol revealed that a 2016 Nissan sedan was involved in a collision with a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The motorcyclist died at the scene of the Little River crash while the driver of the car was transported to a hospital. Horry County Deputy Coroner Patty Bellamy identified the victim as Michael Allen of Franklin, N.J.
Fire officials said the motorcycle caught fire and the blaze had to be extinguished by first responders. Meanwhile, one person was ejected from the car.
The North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue and the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety assisted the Horry county personnel. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing its investigations.
Meanwhile, a woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Greenville County on Thursday afternoon.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Gary Miller said the crash occurred just after 4:30 p.m. on North Pleasantburg Drive. The victim, 78-year-old Shirley Q. Bostic of Taylors, died at the scene.
She was driving a Honda CRV SUV and she tried to make a left turn onto North Pleasantburg Drive from a private driveway when her vehicle was struck by a northbound Ford F450 pickup truck.
The truck driver didn’t sustain any injuries.
