An elderly man was killed in a crash on Terrell Mill Road in Marietta on October 11. The victim has been identified as 79-year-old Youe Oh Yu. Cobb County police spokeswoman Officer Shenise McDonald said he died shortly after the accident at the junction of Terrell Mill Road and Redwing Roads.

McDonald said Yu was driving a gray 2007 Honda Accord along Redwing Road around 4:45 p.m. while 52-year-old Marietta resident Joseph H. Stewart was heading south in his 2017 Honda Pilot.

According to the spokeswoman, Yu approached the stop sign at the intersection and attempted to make a left turn onto Terrell Mill. He reportedly turned in front of the Pilot and the two vehicles collided.

Both drivers were transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and the authorities said Stewart’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Investigations into the crash are ongoing and anyone who has information is asked to contact Cobb police at 770-499-3987.

Meanwhile, police in Atlanta are looking for two people after a hit-and-run accident that resulted in the death of a woman. A man was also left nursing critical injuries.

Atlanta police spokeswoman Marla Jean Rooker said the accident occurred around 10 a.m. on Saturday on I-285 in the northbound lanes of the highway at the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive exit. Two vehicles were involved in the crash and one of them overturned.

Investigators said the driver of a Chevrolet Cruze was trying to exit I-285 when it hit a Hyundai Sonata and caused it to flip. A woman in the Hyundai was declared dead at the scene while a man was transported to Grady Memorial hospital in critical condition.

Eyewitnesses told police a man and woman got out of Chevrolet and fled.
