If you have not worked in a job that is covered by Social Security, and have not paid into the Social Security system, you cannot recover disability benefits from the Social Security Administration. There are certain exceptions to this rule; for example, you may be able to receive benefits off of your spouse’s record. However there may be other programs for which you might be eligible.
