Albany, GA (January 23, 2024) – The Albany Police Department’s Traffic Unit confirmed that 19-year-old Joshua Raines lost his life as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Dougherty County. The accident took place at approximately 4:00 a.m. on January 21.
According to official reports provided by Dougherty County Coroner Micheal Fowler, a motor vehicle accident took place during the early morning hours in the 2300 block of Gillionville Road. The impact of the crash sent one vehicle off the roadway, where it struck a pole. A backseat passenger in the vehicle, identified as Raines, was severely hurt. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries. Three other victims were injured in the crash. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
