The city of Concord is the largest in the Cabarrus County of North Carolina. It is also the county seat with an estimated population of above 85,000. Concord is home to a number of notable attractions which makes it one of the top tourist attractions in the entire state.
Some of the must-visit places at Concord include the Concord Mills, the Pixieland Amusement Park, and the NASCAR race track. The Hector H. Henry II Greenway is perfect for walking, jogging or bicycling across a tree-dotted path. The NASCAR race track is famously ‘America’s Home for Racing.’ This is a 2000-acre complex that is home to the zMax Dragway, a drag racing strip.

For more laid-back family fun in Concord, the local amusement parks and historic downtown area are perfect. This includes the Pixieland Amusement Park, a local favorite, and two National Register Historic Districts that are home to a variety of specialty shops, museums, and public art exhibits.
One of the most historic structures in Concord is the County Courthouse. The Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today it serves as the Cabarrus County Veterans Museum today and is in the Commercial Historic District. Its iconic building features various architectural styles from the 19th century including the Italianate and Second Empire styles, along with elements of the classic style. Designed by G. S. H. Appleget, the Courthouse dates back to 1876. It can be accessed via the South Union Street in Concord, North Carolina.

CONCORD POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Concord Police Department is a sizable agency that is committed to the safety and policing of the city of Concord. The city has a population of more than 80,000 residents. The Concord Police Department, seeks to forge close ties and mutual relationships with the community. Through such partnerships, we strive to ensure the safety of the community in a fair and transparent manner. Being respectful towards the citizens, conducting our duties in an ethical manner and making evidence-backed decisions are key ethos for the department.
Tourists and visitors are a vital part of the Concord city life. More than 17 million people visit the public attractions at the city. Notable among these is the Concord Mills Mall and Charlotte Motor Speedway.

With more than two hundred active staff members as well as around 200 sworn members, we have a sizable team to handle any fire-related hazards over a 61 square-mile area.
The Concord Fire Department dates back more than 100 years. We have a long and rich history of providing professional services to the residents and shareholders of the Concord city. We believe in helping people, saving lives and preventing or containing fire-related hazards anywhere across the city.
The Concord Fire Department has been ISO certified with a Class 1 insurance standing. The rating has been granted after a careful review and risk-assessment of various aspects of the department’s operations. In addition, the operational capabilities of the department also directly impact the insurance provided by insurers to the citizens of Concord. Insurance companies consider factors such as the fire alarm system, capabilities of the fire department as well as the fire protection areas when offering coverage to the city residents.

The Cabarrus County Public Library is one of the best-cherished public treasures. More than one-third of the citizens of the county are registered users of the library. The Carolinas Healthcare System, more recently renamed as Atrium Health Cabarrus, is located in the city of Concord. The hospital offers both inpatient and outpatient medical facilities. The 457-bed medical facility offers a comprehensive range of medical services. The premises of the hospital include the Levine Cancer Institution-Concord as well as the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences.
