Cobb Co., GA (March 14, 2024) – The Cobb County Police Department confirmed that 55-year-old Sylvia Williamson lost her life as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday evening, March 12. The police and firefighters were called to the scene of the accident at around 5:50 p.m.
According to official reports, a 2020 Nissan case was traveling south on Factory Shoals Road during the evening hours. As the vehicle proceeded through the area, it collided with a 2018 Ford F150 pickup truck. The impact of the crash caused the Nissan to then strike a 2010 Dodge Dakota and a 2001 Acura MDX. The Acura driver was injured in the accident. He was transported to WellStar Cobb Hospital for emergency treatment. The driver of the Nissan, identified as Williamson, was fatally injured.
She was pronounced deceased by authorities. An 8-year-old girl, a three-year-old girl, a one-year-old boy, and two adults were also injured in the accident. The 8-year-old girl was transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for the treatment of severe injuries. The other victims were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
