Asheville, NC (January 17, 2024) – One person has died as a result of an automobile accident that occurred on Saturday in Asheville. The accident was reported at around 5:15 a.m. on January 13.
According to official reports provided by the Asheville Police Department, an automobile accident occurred on Interstate 240 E. near Amboy Road. Authorities confirmed that a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling on the roadway when it struck a guard rail and a light pole before exiting the road. A passenger involved in the accident, identified as Andres Villeda-Arroyo, was severely injured. Authorities confirmed that the victim died from his injuries while at Mission Hospital. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
