Carteret Co., NC (June 11, 2024) – A fatal accident reported in Carteret County claimed one person’s life. The incident was reported at around 1:55 p.m. on June 9.
According to area law enforcement reports, 32-year-old Brittany Jacobs was driving westbound on North Carolina 24 when her vehicle collided with a second vehicle driven by 47-year-old John Douglas Canoy Jr. One person in the rear of the truck was ejected. The victim, 55-year-old Heather Young, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by authorities. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
