Charlotte, NC (June 29, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Burlington area claimed one person’s life. The collision took place on Thursday evening, June 27.
At around 8:00 p.m., a pedestrian was walking in the area of Old Concord Road and Rocky River Road on the east side of Charlotte. For unknown reasons, the pedestrian was struck by an Amtrak train, which was traveling to Charlotte from New York City. The train was occupied by 106 passengers at the time of the accident. The pedestrian, identified as 47-year-old Daniel Cameron Wagoner, was fatally injured. He died while still at the scene. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
