Cobb Co., GA (July 18, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Cobb County on Tuesday claimed one person’s life. The collision took place at around 3:30 p.m. on July 16.
Official reports indicate that a Ford Escape, a gray Hyundai Sonata, a black GMC Yukon XL, and a white GMC Sierra were all involved in a collision on the East-West Connector near Hicks Road. Further investigations show that the driver of the Sierra crossed over the center of the roadway near Hicks Road and collided with the Yukon. The impact of the crash caused the Yukon to flip over onto its side. The Sierra then collided with a Ford Escape and the Hyundai. The incident prompted authorities to shut down the roadway while assisting. One person involved in the crash was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two victims were transported to area hospitals for further medical care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
