Columbia, SC (April 11, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Monday afternoon claimed one person’s life. The accident was reported to the South Carolina Highway Patrol at around 3:00 p.m. on April 8.
According to SCHP reports, a Toyota was traveling eastbound on Prescot Road during the afternoon hours. As the vehicle proceeded through the intersection of North Main Street, it collided with a Columbia Police Department police cruiser. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to area hospitals for emergency medical care. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Toyota died from their injuries. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
