Concord, NC (May 19, 2024) – Emergency crews have confirmed that 35-year-old John Lee Stevenson Jr. lost his life as a result of a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on Friday afternoon, May 17.
At around 130 p.m., Stevenson was walking westbound on Davidson Highway. As he proceeded through the area near Wincoff School Road, he was struck by a Nissan Titan pickup truck. Stephenson was severely injured in the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities determined that the driver of the pickup truck, 41-year-old David Royce Brown, was impaired at the time of the collision. Brown was taken into police custody and charged with habitual impaired driving and second-degree murder. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
