Decatur Co., GA (March 10, 2024) – Emergency crews were summoned to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident in Decatur County that claimed one person’s life. The accident occurred on March 7.
According to reports provided by authorities, a vehicle was at a stop sign traveling north on Georgia State Route 262 at the intersection of State Route 38. At the same time, a second vehicle was traveling on State Route 38 while heading towards the intersection. As the vehicle attempted to drive across the eastbound lanes of the roadway, the first vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way to the second vehicle. As a result, the two vehicles collided. One was ejected from their vehicle. The victim was flown by helicopter to a Tallahassee hospital, where they died from their injuries. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
