Duplin Co., NC (February 24, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Thursday evening claimed one person’s life. The incident occurred at around 4:45 p.m. on February 22.
According to area law enforcement, a Duplin County deputy was driving in the area of Cornwallis Road and Betholite Road when they became involved in a motor vehicle accident with a second vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle was injured in the crash. The victim was transported to ECU Health in Kenansville, where they passed away from their injuries. The deputy was transported to the same hospital for medical care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
