Jesup, GA (April 25, 2024) – The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that 30-year-old Elizabeth Ammons and 32-year-old Christopher Peacock both lost their lives as a result of a fatal head-on collision that occurred on Wednesday in Wayne County.
According to official reports, Peacock was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Highway 84 at around 6:15 a.m. on April 24. For unknown reasons, his vehicle collided head-on with a black 2013 Ford Explorer. Peacock and the driver of the Ford, identified as Ammons, both suffered fatal injuries. The two victims were pronounced deceased by authorities. No other injuries were reported in the accident. The Sheriff’s office and firefighters remained at the scene for a significant amount of time to investigate. Investigations are currently ongoing.
