Fatal Auto Accidents in South Carolina
Fatal accidents can be devastating. Unfortunately, we see fatal collisions occur nearly every day in our state. Many of these accidents are completely preventable. Reckless actions continue to contribute to a significant number of vehicle collisions that take the lives of innocent people across our state every year. Some of the leading factors in fatal crashes include:
- Distracted Driving: Numerous accidents are a result of drivers who were texting or talking on their phones while behind the wheel. This unfortunate trend has increased in the past decade due to the rapid increase in the use of technology. We see more and more accidents take place as a result of people who are using their phones to call or text others while driving.
- Speeding: Many accidents within our state can be attributed to drivers exceeding legal speed limits. The consequences of speeding can be catastrophic for other drivers sharing the road, particularly in adverse weather conditions.
- Impaired Driving: Despite strict laws that are in place to prevent intoxicated drivers from entering our roadways, some still make the irresponsible choice to get behind the wheel, often leading to tragic consequences for other motorists.
When drivers are reckless during the operation of their vehicle, it can have devastating consequences. If you have lost a loved one as a result of a crash caused by the negligent or careless actions of another driver, you may be able to take legal action. You should seek representation from a South Carolina wrongful death lawyer as soon as possible.
