Raleigh, NC (April 11, 2024) – The four individuals who have lost their lives as a result of a fatal collision in the Raleigh area have been identified by the Raleigh Police Department. The accident occurred at around 220 a.m. on Saturday, April 6.
Reports from the police indicate that a 2013 Honda Civic was involved in a collision with a 2018 Honda Accord. The vehicles came to rest on the westbound side of Interstate 440 near Capital Boulevard. Authorities determined that one of the vehicles involved in the accident was traveling the wrong way at the time of the accident. The Raleigh Police Department and firefighters responded to the scene and closed the roadway.
Four people involved in the crash suffered severe injuries. All four victims ended up passing away from the accident. The victims were identified as 32-year-old Yesenia Gutierrez Lopez, 24-year-old Matias Lopez Aldair Rivaldo, 28-year-old Bianca Zena Powell, and 21-year-old Gerson Ivan Ambriz-Martin. Investigations surrounding the accident are ongoing.
