Rockwell, NC (January 12, 2024) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal collision that took place in Rockwell on Tuesday evening, January 9. The accident was reported to troopers at around 915 p.m.
Law enforcement reports show that a Ford Mustang was traveling on Red Road when it became involved in a collision at the intersection of Wilcoy Road. The Ford proceeded forward when it collided with a second vehicle near the area of St. Luke’s Church Road. The force of the crash caused the driver to lose control of their vehicle and strike a brick and concrete sign. The vehicle overturned and ejected two people. One victim involved in the accident, identified as 23-year-old Kimberly Anita Lynn Nesslage, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim, 24-year-old John Paul Beinkampen, was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The crash is being investigated.
We hope John Paul Beinkampen recovers quickly from his injuries.
