Fatal Accidents in South Carolina
Fatal motor vehicle accidents are reported every day in the United States. With more than 42,000 deaths reported annually in our country, it is saddening to know that many of these accidents occur right here in South Carolina. Many of the accidents that we see on our roadways are completely preventable.
Distracted driving, like texting or using a phone while driving, takes the driver’s attention from the road and can lead to devastating consequences. Unfortunately, distractions are one of the leading factors in many of the accidents across our state. Speeding is another major factor, increasing the risk of losing control and crashing. When drivers are speeding, they are likely to lose control of their vehicle and crash into others. Unfortunately, the high rate of speed increases the severity of the collision due to the force of impact. We also see many accidents take place as a result of drivers who are impaired, recklessly switch lanes, and engage in other careless actions.
