Seneca, SC (February 20, 2024) – A 3-year-old girl lost her life as a result of a fatal fire incident that occurred on Saturday morning in Oconee County. On February 17, authorities were called to the scene of a fire that occurred on West Oak Highway. According to reports, a fire broke out inside of a home located on the highway near Coneross Point at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and immediately began battling the blaze. Heavy fire was venting from the front of the home. Firefighters initiated a search of the home to look for individuals inside. A 3-year-old girl was pulled from the home with severe injuries. The girl was transported to Prisma Oconee for emergency treatment. She was then airlifted from the hospital and flown to a burn center in Georgia. Authorities confirmed that she passed away from her injuries. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
