Union Co., SC (April 10, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Union County claimed the lives of two people. The incident occurred at around 9:20 p.m. on April 8.
According to local news sources, a collision involving a pickup truck and a car occurred on Beltline Road during the evening hours. Authorities arrived at the scene and located the involved vehicles blocking the road near Hawkins Road. Emergency officials immediately shut down a portion of the road. Two people involved who were in the car at the time of the accident, identified as 84-year-old Gene Edwards and 79-year-old Loretta Edwards, were pronounced deceased as a result of their injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was injured in the crash and transported to an area hospital. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
