Winston-Salem, NC (March 21, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Winston-Salem on Sunday evening claimed one person’s life. The Winston-Salem Police Department and firefighters were called to the scene of the accident at around 715 p.m. on March 17.
Official reports show that a 2024 Honda 250 dirt bike was traveling on Old Greensboro Road when it collided with an eastbound Kia Optima. The driver of the Kia was attempting to make a left turn onto Barbara Jane Avenue at the time of the incident. The person on the dirt bike, identified as 25-year-old Demontau Divine Patterson, was severely injured. The victim was rushed to an area hospital for emergency care. Authorities confirmed that the victim passed away from their injuries on Wednesday, March 20. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
