Aiken, SC (February 28, 2024) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that one person died as a result of an automobile accident that occurred on Monday evening, February 26.
At approximately 8:40 p.m., authorities were called to the scene of an automobile accident on Ascauga Lake Road. Preliminary investigations show that a pickup truck collided with a scooter that was traveling on the roadway during the evening hours. The person riding the scooter, identified as 38-year-old Oscar King, was severely injured in the crash. Emergency medical services personnel responded to the scene to provide treatment to the injured victim. King was rushed to an area hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities confirmed that he passed away from his injuries at 921 p.m. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
