Augusta, GA (October 23, 2023) – The Augusta Police Department confirmed that 42-year-old James Allen Griffin Jr lost his life as a result of a fatal collision on Sunday.
At around 2:50 a.m. on October 22, authorities were called to the scene of a crash on Bobby Jones Expressway.
According to reports, a collision took place on the roadway near Wheeler Road during the morning hours. The impact of the crash sent one vehicle off the roadway. The vehicle overturned multiple times. One person was ejected from the vehicle. The victim, identified as Griffin, was transported to Doctors Hospital of Augusta for emergency treatment. He passed away from his injuries.
The crash is being investigated.
