Horry County, SC (October 22, 2023) – On Saturday morning, the South Carolina Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal accident reported in Horry County.

According to official reports, at around 2:00 a.m. on October 21, a pedestrian was traveling north on US Highway 17. For reasons unknown, a vehicle struck the pedestrian just one-half of the mile south of North Myrtle Beach.

The pedestrian, who was identified as 59-year-old Theresa Brown of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, sustained fatal injuries. She died while still at the scene of the accident.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
