Florence, SC (October 22, 2023) – A crash in Florence County reported on Wednesday evening claimed the life of a motorcyclist, according to highway patrol.
The incident occurred at around 7:15 p.m. on October 18.
According to Lcpl. Lena Butler with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2023 Yamaha R7, and a 2016 Chrysler 200 collided on Old Mars Bluff Road. The incident prompted the Highway Patrol to close off the roadway near US Highway 76.
No one in the Chrysler suffered any injuries as a result of the crash.
The motorcyclist was injured. Emergency medical service personnel rendered aid before transporting them to McLeod Health Regional Medical Center for emergency care. The police confirmed that the victim passed away after arriving.
The incident is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol at this time.
