Lexington, SC (November 8, 2023) – One person suffered fatal injuries in a truck crash reported in Lexington County on Monday. The South Carolina Highway Patrol was called to the crash at around 4:30 p.m. on November 6.
According to reports provided by Lexington County authorities, a garbage truck was on the westbound side of Wescott Road collecting trash in the area near Bush River Road. A pedestrian was behind the garbage truck.
For unknown reasons, a 2014 Nissan SUV traveled through the area and struck the pedestrian before crashing into the garbage truck.
The pedestrian suffered severe injuries in the crash. The Lexington County coroner’s office confirmed that the victim passed away from their injuries.
The driver of the SUV and two passengers sustained injuries. The three victims were transported to local hospitals.
The crash is being investigated.
