Lee County, SC (November 12, 2023) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that one person died as a result of a fatal collision that took place on Friday afternoon in Lee County.
At around 2:20 p.m. on November 10, the South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene of an automobile accident on US Route 15, Sumter Highway.
According to official reports, a 2020 tractor-trailer was traveling north on US Route 15. As the vehicle attempted to turn left onto the westbound side of Interstate 20, the vehicle collided with a 2019 Chevrolet sedan.
The driver of the sedan sustained fatal injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the crash.
At this time, investigations are underway.
