Macon, GA (November 23, 2023) – A man lost his life as a result of a fire that occurred in the Macon area on Monday morning, November 20. At around 7:45 a.m., the police, firefighters, and emergency medical services personnel out of Bibb County responded to the scene of a fire on Reid Street.
Reports from authorities show that a fire broke out at a residential structure located at 365 Reid Street. Firefighters rushed to the scene and immediately began battling the blaze. A 78-year-old man in the home, identified as Joseph May, sustained severe injuries. He was pronounced deceased by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones due to the extent of injuries. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
