Macon, GA (November 29, 2023) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of a multi-vehicle accident in Bibb County that claimed one person’s life. The accident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. on November 27.
According to official reports from the Georgia Department of Transportation, multiple vehicles collided on Interstate 75 during the afternoon hours. The incident blocked the south side of the highway near Pierce Avenue. The impact of the collision caused at least one vehicle to catch on fire. Authorities confirmed that the collision involved a box truck, an SUV, and three pickup trucks.
One person involved in the crash, identified as 66-year-old Jeffrey Louis Davis, who was driving a Nissan Titan, was fatally injured as a result of the collision. At least four other victims were transported to area hospitals for the treatment of injuries. The roadway was closed for several hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
