Florence, SC (December 12, 2023) – Two teens have died as a result of a motor vehicle accident reported on Saturday evening in the Florence area. The accident occurred at around 9:00 p.m. on September 9.
According to reports provided by the Florence Police Department, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was involved in a collision with a Ford Flex SUV on Kershaw Street near Gaillard Street during the evening hours. After the initial collision, the pickup truck struck a utility pole and overturned, coming to rest on its roof. The incident caused one person to be trapped inside the pickup truck.
Bystanders were able to remove the victim from the vehicle. Two victims, identified as a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old, both sustained fatal injuries. The two victims passed away while at the scene. At this time, investigations into the collision are ongoing.
