Hardeeville, SC (December 19, 2023) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that 43-year-old Jesse Burnett of Bluffton, South Carolina, lost his life as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the Hardeeville area. At approximately 6:00 p.m. on December 14, authorities were called to the scene of a crash on Highway 17.
Preliminary reports show that a vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler on Highway 17, causing significant damage to the second vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as Burnett, was fatally injured in the crash. He was pronounced deceased by authorities. At this time, the Jasper County Coroner’s Office and the Hardeeville Police Department are investigating.
