Fayetteville, NC (December 26, 2023) – Two people were fatally injured in a motor vehicle collision on Monday morning in Fayetteville. The accident occurred just before 11:00 a.m. on December 25.
According to local law enforcement, a Toyota Corolla was traveling in the area of Hope Mills Road and Glensford Drive when it became involved in a collision with a Chrysler 300. Authorities determined that the driver of the Chrysler ran a red light at the intersection. Two people in the Toyota, identified as 46-year-old Patricia Fields and 47-year-old Jada Fields, both suffered fatal injuries. The two victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the 300, Michael Anthony Smith, Jr., sustained minor injuries. Two people involved in the accident fled the scene on foot. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
