Horry Co., SC (December 29, 2023) – A pedestrian accident reported in Horry County on Thursday morning claimed one person’s life. The accident occurred at around 1:15 a.m. on December 28.
According to reports from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was struck by a 2013 Peterbilt tractor-trailer, which was heading southbound on Highway 501. The incident prompted authorities to close down the roadway in the area near Conway. The driver of the truck did not suffer any injuries as a result of the accident. The pedestrian was fatally injured and pronounced deceased on site. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
