Fatal Auto Accidents in South Carolina
A fatal accident can be incredibly difficult to deal with. Losing a loved one due to the careless and negligent actions of another driver can be quite challenging. Unfortunately, hundreds of families in our state are affected by these accidents. Far too often, innocent people die as a result of vehicle collisions that are preventable. In fact, more than 80 percent of vehicle collisions are of some form of negligence or human error. Leading factors in fatal collisions include:
- Running red lights: Disregarding traffic signals increases the likelihood of intersection collisions and fatal accidents.
- Sleep-deprived driving: Sleep-deprived driving impairs cognitive function and reaction time, increasing the likelihood of fatal crashes.
- Tired driving: Tired driving, similar to sleep deprivation, leads to decreased alertness, compromising a driver’s ability to navigate safely on the road.
