Chapel Hill, NC (January 21, 2024) – On January 21, the police and firefighters out of Chapel Hill responded to the scene of an automobile accident during the early morning hours that claimed one person’s life. Calls for help came in at around 220 a.m.
According to the Chapel Hill Police Department, an automobile accident occurred at the intersection of Raleigh Road and West Barbee Chapel Road. The impact of the crash caused one of the vehicles to go off the roadway and come to rest in a wooded area. A passenger inside the vehicle was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. Two additional victims were transported to area hospitals for the treatment of injuries. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
