Catoosa Co., GA (February 1, 2024) – Authorities were notified on Saturday of a fatal collision that claimed the life of one person. On January 27, the police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on State Route 1. According to investigations, a 67-year-old female from Lafayette, Georgia, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Impala north on the roadway when she became involved in a collision with a 2011 Toyota Prius just north of Tom Hunt Road.
The driver of the Impala was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. The driver of the Prius and their 22-year-old female passenger were both injured. The two victims were transported to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, for the treatment of serious injuries. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
