Spring Lake, NC (February 11, 2024) – Authorities confirmed that 69-year-old Levan McDaniel and 66-year-old Dorothy McDaniel were both fatally injured as a result of a house fire that occurred in the Spring Lake area on Wednesday evening, February 7.
According to reports from area law enforcement, a home on Morrison Avenue in Spring Lake caught on fire for unknown reasons. Firefighters rushed to the scene and began battling the blaze, which began in the kitchen of the home. Firefighters located the body of 69-year-old Levan McDaniel in the home. Authorities located his wife Dorothy and pulled her from the burning home. Emergency crews performed CPR on the victim. However, she passed away from her injuries. At this time, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
