Fatal Auto Accidents in Georgia
Each day, our state witnesses an overwhelming number of fatal collisions on our roadways. Despite their overwhelming frequency, preparing for the sudden and unexpected impact these incidents bring to a family is an impossible task. Unfortunately, a significant number of these fatal collisions are a result of driver negligence.
If you have lost a loved one due to the reckless actions of another motorist, it is crucial for your family to seek legal representation as soon as possible from a dedicated wrongful death lawyer. Your family may be entitled to recover compensation for various losses and damages, including:
- Funeral and burial costs: These costs can include the funeral director’s fees, transportation of the body, casket or urn, flowers, obituaries, and headstone or grave marker.
- Lost wages and future earnings: This could include salary, bonuses, commission, or retirement benefits.
- Medical expenses: These expenses can include the cost of medical expenses incurred between the time of the accident and the passing of your loved one.
- Loss of companionship or consortium: The loss of companionship or consortium refers to the emotional and psychological pain and suffering caused by the death. This can include the loss of companionship, intimacy, support, and love.
- Pain and suffering: This includes the physical pain, emotional distress, and suffering experienced by the surviving family members. This type of damage is often subjective and difficult to calculate, but it can provide compensation for the losses.
Acting swiftly to secure legal representation offers your family the best opportunity to attain the maximum possible compensation for these and other damages. A wrongful death lawyer can guide you in seeking justice and holding the negligent party accountable for the loss of your loved one.
