Greer, SC (February 21, 2024) – The South Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on Saturday morning that claimed one person’s life. At approximately 11:20 a.m. on February 17, authorities were called to the scene of a collision on Highway 101.
Preliminary crash reports show that a 2016 Nissan Altima and a 2018 Honda CRV collided on the highway at the intersection of Highway 296. The Nissan was traveling southbound at the time of the accident when it collided with the Honda. The driver of the Nissan, 46-year-old Jonathan Matthew Long, was rushed to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. No other injuries were reported in the crash. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
