Barnwell Co., SC (February 23, 2024) – A fatal accident reported on Tuesday morning claimed one person’s life. The accident was reported to officials at around 11:30 a.m. on February 20.
Reports provided by the South Carolina Highway Patrol show that a 2020 Honda Ridgeline was traveling eastbound on Poplar Road. As it crossed over the intersection with South Carolina three, it collided with a 2005 international box truck. The box truck was traveling north on the highway at the time of the accident. The driver of the Honda, who has not been identified yet by the Barnwell County Coroner’s Office, sustained fatal injuries. They were pronounced deceased at the scene. The incident is currently being investigated.
