Charleston, SC (February 23, 2024) – The North Charleston Police Department confirmed that a fatal accident occurred on Wednesday evening that claimed one person’s life. The incident was reported at approximately 9:30 p.m. on February 21.
Law enforcement reports indicate that a man was struck by a North Charleston Police Department vehicle on Highway 78 near Shipley Street. The man was severely injured in the crash. He was transported by EMS to an area hospital for emergency care. The police confirmed that he died from his injuries after arriving. At this time, the crash is under investigation.
