Fayetteville, NC (March 10, 2024) – The Fayetteville Police Department confirmed that 30-year-old Darryl Porter lost his life as a result of a motorcycle accident that occurred on Saturday evening in Fayetteville. At approximately 5:00 p.m. on March 2, calls for help came in regarding a crash on Scottsville Road.
Authorities reported that a 54-year-old woman from Laurinburg was driving a 2007 Nissan Maxima when she tried to make a left turn from Scottsdale Road onto Cliffdale Road. As a result, her vehicle collided with a 2002 Suzuki GSX-R 1000 motorcycle that was traveling on Cliffdale Road. The motorcyclist, identified as Porter, was initially transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and later airlifted to UNC Chapel Hill. Authorities confirmed that he later passed away from his injuries. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
