Economic compensation is intended to cover financial losses resulting from the death. Other economic damages may include lost benefits, social security benefits, inheritance, funeral, burial expenses, and other financial impacts suffered by the family due to the death.
Non-economic compensation is aimed at addressing emotional distress. This category covers grief, suffering, and loss of companionship, consortium, parental guidance, and sorrow.
