Fatal Car Accidents in North Carolina
Annually, over 1000 lives are tragically claimed by vehicle collisions across North Carolina, many of which are caused by the reckless and negligent behavior of drivers. Some primary factors contributing to fatal collisions in our state include:
- Ignoring stop signs: Ignoring stop signs at intersections frequently results in collisions with vehicles having the right of way, causing devastating accidents and rollovers.
- Street racing: Engaging in races increases the likelihood of serious accidents, with drivers often struggling to stop in time and potentially losing control of their vehicles.
- Wrong-way driving: Traveling in the wrong direction significantly heightens the risk of severe head-on collisions, particularly at high speeds.
- Vehicle defects: Malfunctioning parts, such as tire blowouts, brake failures, or accelerator jams, can lead to severe or even fatal accidents.
