Columbia, SC (April 21, 2024) – A fatal motor vehicle accident reported on Friday morning in Columbia claimed one person’s life. The accident occurred at around 7:00 a.m. on April 19.
South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper reports indicate that two drivers were stopped on Interstate 26 after being involved in a crash near mile marker 95. As the drivers remained at the scene, another vehicle traveling on the roadway crashed into one of the involved vehicles. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was rushed to an area hospital for emergency care. Authorities confirmed that the victim died from their injuries after arriving. Two additional people were injured in the accident. Both victims were rushed to area hospitals for emergency care. At this time, investigations into the accident are underway.
